Turriff

The organisers of Turriff Show must have had a sinking feeling (quite literally) when heavy showers hit the showground on the Saturday before the show. However, luck was with them and Sunday turned out to be a lovely day, mostly sunny and warm, with just one short shower.

Due to one end of the dog show field being a bit on the boggy side, some rearranging had to be done. There was a little less room as everything was moved nearer the fairground and the large marquee faced a different direction, it didn't seem like Turriff show. It's funny how you get used to a certain layout at shows - I suppose we all like to know where we are going and what to expect.

This year's Turriff turned out to be a very successful one for Spey Valley members, with quite a few competing for the top honours.

In the Hound group Bob was over the moon as Luka continued his winning streak. He beat his father, Thistle, to take Best NSC and then he went on to win the group! It was especially exciting because it was his first group win. Well done and hopefully there will be more to come! Still with Hounds, Erica and Dougie's Willow won her class, as did Milo, and he then took BOB.

Gundogs saw three club members in for the group. Elizabeth's Bronni and Asher are on a roll at the moment! Asher won his class, as did Bronni, and she then took BOB, G1 and Best Opposite Sex in Show! Lesley's Mareno was BOB and so was Fran's Diesel.

Plenty of wins in Pastoral. Katrina's Chance won his class and then BOB and G3. She would have been really pleased when young Leo kept up his run of wins and took Best Pastoral Puppy. Linda and Vic's Gino went BOB and G4. Jenny's Brint was also BOB (for the third year running).

In Toys Jill's Chico just keeps storming on, he was BOB and G1 yet again. Sue's Rosa won her class but was beaten for BOB by Linda's TJ, who also took G4. Sue's Louis won the Toy Veteran class and then went on to Best Veteran in Show. Moira's Dandy won the AV Toy Puppy class. Ria's Jasper had a mad moment, involving liver, in the same class but still managed a creditable 3rd.

Karen had a busy day in the Terrier group, she handled Daveena's Inka to Best NSC and G4 and her Rowan was Best Terrier Puppy. It was a clean sweep for the family in the Puppy class with Rowan 1st, Daveena's Poppy 2nd and Caitlin's Kia 3rd!

Joanne's Annie dominated the Working group for the second year running. She won her class (Walter had to make do with 2nd), BOB and G1. Donna's River also had a great day, he was Best Working Puppy and then went on to Reserve Best Puppy in Show (his second).

BIS went to the Standard Poodle, RBIS to the Westie. BPIS, RBPIS and BVIS appear below.

Congratulations to all the winners! Keep it up!!
