Companion show in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

Don't forget our show this coming Sunday at Roseisle Village Hall.  Entries will be taken from 11am and judging starts at noon in three rings.  £2.50 for first entry per dog and 50p for subsequent entires with the same dog.

There are lots of classes on offer - something for everyone!

 Triers,  Highers and Fliers obedience classes will be judged by Steve Hirst.

The kitchen will be open for the usual refreshments and we will be holding a raffle.  Any donations for the raffle will be most appreciated.

Back to classes and a catch up

Classes start again tonight, looking forward to seeing everybody.

This blog has been a bit behind with news so here's a catch up of some events over the past few months.

Back in February we held an inter-club match. Iain Forbes kindly judged and gave BIM to Ria's Jasper and RBIM to Morag's Logie. BP was Jennifer Angus's Harvey, BV Isobel Morrison's Vince and Best Of The Rest Jenny Taylor's yorkie.

At Crufts in March both Elaine and June were to be seen on the famous green carpet of the main arena. June's Benson had won through to the final of the Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant winners of the year and Elaine's Zeta was present in the working group after she'd won Best of Breed.

Companion show at Kintore

Here are a few more details on the Companion show at Farthing Croft, Clovenstone, Kintore on Sunday. Held in aid of Halfpenny Farm Animal Sanctuary.

The judge is Mrs Mickey Ramsay (Drumview), entries will be taken from 12 noon with judging starting at 1pm. £2 for first class and 50p subsequent classes.

Classes are - AV puppy, AV sporting, AV non-sporting, AV open, AV veteran, AV crossbreed or rescue, handsome dog, prettiest bitch, dog in best condition, dog the judge would most like to take home.

To reach the venue from the north, leave the A96 at the first slip road to Kintore, go under the bypass and head back towards Inverurie. Turn left at the sign for Clovenstone and it is approx 1-2 miles up the road. There should be signs for the dog show.

Companion shows

There are a few Companion shows coming up, here are some details.

Fochabers Gala, 24th July, at the playing fields in Fochabers. Entries will be taken from 12.30pm with judging starting at 1.45pm. Sorry, no further details.

Farming Croft, Kintore, 21st August. Entries from 12noon, judging at 1pm.

4th September, Roseisle Village Hall, nr Elgin. Our own annual show held in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Entries from 11am, judging at noon. Further details will follow.

New match date

Sorry for the short notice but our end of session match has been rearranged for 12th July. This means that the last training night will now be the 28th June. The Good Citizen test night will go ahead on the 5th July, as planned.

Match and test nights

It's almost time for the summer holidays and to end the session we will be holding a show match for club members on 28th June. It will start at 7pm and the judge will be Helen Paterson.

The following week, 5th July, we will be holding Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizen tests. 7pm start, don't forget your name tags, brushes and poop scoops.

Classes will start again on August 28th.

Companion show at Roseisle

We will be holding a Companion Show in aid of Willows Animal Sanctuary at Roseisle Hall on Sunday 15th May.

Entries will be taken from 11am and judging will start at midday. There will be pedigree, novelty and obedience classes with judging taking place in three rings. Linda Offen will judge the pedigree, Gladys McCulloch the novelty and Ian Dormund the obedience.

Refreshments will be available, with the usual pies, rolls and baking.

Everyone welcome, the more the merrier!

Extra Bronze test

Since there are quite a few dogs in the first class who are ready for their Bronze, a test has been organised for next Tuesday. It will start at 8pm as usual and because it will take a little longer than a normal class, the top class will be cancelled for that night.

Don't forget your poop scoop, brush and that all important id tag showing your name and address.

Companion Show at Insch

Donside Ringcraft Club will be holding a Companion show in aid of the Archie Foundation at Bennachie Leisure Centre, Insch, on Sunday, April 24th.

Entries will be taken from 10am with judging starting at 11am. There will be ten pedigree classes. five novelty, including junior handling, and the judge is Mr Bill Goudie.

Rosettes awarded for 1st - 4th in all classes. First entry £2.50, subsequent classes with the same dog 50p.

Match classes

We have decided to hold a couple of extra classes at our match on Saturday. Apart from the usual puppy, veteran, main match and junior handling, there will also be a class for 4 - 6 month old pups and one for 12 - 18 months.

AGM and show match

This Tuesday our AGM will be held in the hall at 9pm, all paid up members are welcome to attend. There will be no top class that night but all other classes are as normal.

Don't forget our interclub match on Saturday 26th February. Entries will be taken from 11am with judging starting at noon. Classes for puppy, veteran and junior handling as well as the main match. Come along and get some practice in before Crufts!

Back to class

Happy New Year to everyone! Here's hoping it's a successful one for you all.

Classes start again this Tuesday and the times have changed to our winter timetable. Ringcraft is 6.45 - 7.30pm, Puppy class 7.30 - 8pm, Bronze Good Citizen 8 - 8.45pm, Silver and Gold GC 8.45 - 9.30pm. Hopefully we will not have a repeat of the snow but, if it looks as if the weather may affect classes, you can check before leaving home. Notice will be posted here or you can phone 01466 730292/01343 870281.

Annual membership is now due, £3 single and £5 joint.

A show match will be held on February 26th at the hall and we have invited Banff, Moray & Nairn CC and Donside Ringcraft Club. Come along, support the club and get some practice in before Crufts! Our judge will be Ian Forbes. Start time to follow.
