The sun shone down on the companion show in aid of PAT and MacMillan on Sunday, this made for an enjoyable day with a bumper entry. The grand sum of £1100 was raised for the charities.
There were quite a few wins for Spey Valley members - Sue's Gypsy won the toy class and then went Best in Show, Jenny's Brint won the pastoral class, Joanne's Walter won the working and Karen's Poppy was first in a very large puppy class.
Best Puppy was won by Maria Hall's Polly, bred by Erica and Dougie, continuing her run of success.
Jayne and David's Charley was Best crossbreed (photo to follow)
Well done to everyone.

Bronze passes
Well done to everyone who passed their Bronze test last Thursday, especially to Rhonda and Kyra. It may have taken a while to crack that stay but perseverence paid off! Congratulations.

Companion Show at Roseisle
There will be a Companion show on Sunday 27th April at Roseisle, near Elgin, in aid of Pets As Therapy and MacMillan.
As well as the usual pedigree and novelty there will be three obedience classes, which are based on the Good Citizen Dog Scheme and therefore will be catering for all capabilities - come and have a go!
Dogs do not need to be Kennel Club registered to enter but puppies must be over 6 months.
There will be refreshments available and a raffle will be held.
Entries taken from 10.30 am and judging will start in all three rings at 12 noon.
Come and support two good causes and have a great day out at the same time.

Ross and Cromarty
The hall at Invergordon is usually extremely busy at Ross and Cromarty Canine Club's open show but it seemed to be a much quieter affair this year. There were a few breed club champ shows the same weekend, as well as other open shows further south, so perhaps this affected the entry. The weekly rise in the cost of fuel is bound to be a consideration too.
Spey Valley members were in short supply but, in general, those that attended were quite successful.
Gundogs - Sue's Finlay was BOB
Pastoral - Morag's Arran was BOB and 2nd in a large veteran class, Roseanne's Toby was best pastoral puppy.
Terriers - Karen's Ceilidh was BOB and G2.
Toys - Sue's Louis was BOB and G3.
Heather's Kayla won the veteran class.
Dougie and Erica were pleased to see that Polly, the puppy bred by them and now owned by Maria Hall, continued her run of success by winning Best Pup in Show.
BIS was a beardie.
Well done to everyone! If I've missed any wins, please let me know.

Obedience match
Our obedience match was held in the hall last Saturday and, due to such a great entry, it turned into a long but enjoyable day. Thanks to everyone who came and especially to our judge Jim McKay and his steward Louise for doing a great job and happily staying on their feet from 11am until gone 6pm!
Jim said afterwards that it was wonderful to see so many people entering and also how nice it was to see such a variety of breeds competing.
We hope all club members enjoyed taking part and, if you didn't make the line up this year, keep up the training and we'll see you next year!
Well done to all the winners.
Remember you can left click on the photos to see them full size.
